What is Play, Talk and Learn?

The Play, talk and Learn Program was developed to serve a growing population of children from 2 to 7 years of age who can benefit from small group speech and language experiences. Within this age range, many children experience communication delays, which do not meet strict medical criteria for individual therapy through managed care health plans, yet put them at risk socially, academically, and emotionally. The Play, Talk and Learn Class provides a cost-effective means for enhancing language development in toddlers and young children, allowing them to “catch up” to their peers but without over treating them in costly individual therapy programs. These communication groups comprised of 5-7 children meeting twice weekly, can have a profound impact on speech-language development while fostering social skills and self esteem.
