Since opening his private practice in San Diego in 1976, Dr. Thile has expanded his influence in the speech pathology field dramatically. He served on the faculty at San Diego State University continuously from 1965 to 2001 as a Professor of Communicative Disorders, Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, and Project Director for numerous federally-funded training grants.
In addition to teaching at San Diego State University, Dr. Thile lectures and conducts workshops nationally as well as locally to parents and professionals in the community. He is a recognized authority on fluency disorders. Dr. Thile's SDSU course, entitled Psychological Foundations of Communication and Learning, provided invaluable information for parents and teachers regarding the speech, language, and cognitive development of children. |
