Parent Testimonials of Wee Sign

“Sadie is way more verbal than other kids her age and I can only attribute that to Wee Sign.” At the height of her signing (13/14 months old) she had about 70 signs. She is 17 months now and has dropped quite a few signs because she is able to speak. Sadie started Wee Sign when she was 8 months old but didn’t actually produce her first sign until she was 10 months old. Her first sign was ‘monkey’. Her first signs were not the typical ones (milk, more, drink etc.) She started with all of the animals. “She did signs that were interesting to her and food wasn’t it! We will definitely send a second child through the program. We had so much fun, my husband and I, and so much success.” There was a time period when Sadie was very sick. From 11-12 months she wouldn’t eat or drink. They were doing all sorts of tests. “At one point she was laying on the floor very lethargic and she made the sign for banana. That one little sign was so worthwhile. She could tell me what she wanted. It was the first thing she had wanted to eat. It was just so worthwhile for that one little sign.”

“The program is wonderful. Rodger was able to not only learn the signs but it is helping his verbal skills. He has 30 signs down which he signs accurately. His verbal skills have increased as well. I highly recommend the program to anyone. The instructor was wonderful. We enjoyed the program. I would do it again with my second child. It helps with the bonding process. Also, I think it helps you understand your child’s interests, and likes and dislikes. It minimizes the guess work.”

“Trevor is almost 2 and there have been no terrible two’s! It has been a piece of cake; because he can communicate with us it’s been so easy. Signing with Trevor is like a little window into his mind. At his age you wouldn’t expect to be able to tell him ‘tell daddy what you did today’ and actually have him reply with a sign for slide or park. At 18 months he’ll make signs, talking about things that we’ve done and I’ll think ‘Wow, I didn’t even remember that’.”

“I always sing the praises of County Speech and Wee Sign. The instructors do a wonderful job of teaching the signs to parents and making it fun and interesting for the babies. I know a lot of families in my play group who will be giving County Speech a call to join in the classes when their babies are at the right age."

"The signing is going great! Ryan and Lucie really took off with it. They know and use tons of signs now, including ones that they made up themselves for their stuffed animals and favorite games. I'm so glad we kept with it- it's been a wonderful experience. They are talking a lot more now too ( most times along with the sign) and I think the sign language helped speed up their vocabulary and communication skills."
